Commissions -T&C

The first step in creating your own unique lampshade is to talk to us. Don’t worry, we’re lovely.


When discussing a bespoke design Shady and the Lamp can offer some pretty distinctive choices which we guarantee will be full of character while meeting your projects’ specific requirements. All our designs are made to order in-house so if you’d like to find out more, please get in touch.



Final costs for commissioned pieces will be agreed upon in advance, prior to any transactions of payment.  In-studio and over the phone payments are accepted via all major credit and debit cards. Upon communication a bank transfer or PayPal request can be arranged. Cheques can also be made payable to Shady and the Lamp however please note, 7 working days will be required for clearance before the project can commence. Your payment details are not held by Shady and the Lamp.



A 50% deposit is required to secure all commissioned work with the remainder due on completion, prior to delivery.



Every commission is different but all start with a conversation. Lead times for projects can vary dramatically throughout the year. We understand that some projects are time sensitive so we always recommend getting in touch as early as possible, we can get booked up.



Commissioned and bespoke orders cannot be returned and are non-refundable. For all bespoke and made to order lamps / shades, the project cost is non-refundable, unless the item is faulty or damaged on arrival.
